Biography

Sursie Metzger  is a Harpist and Solo Artist from the area of Chattanooga Tennessee. As a Harpist and Pianist she creates Ambient and Fantasy style instrumentals mostly comprising of Lever Harp and Various effects pedals.

 

Sursie is a legally blind musician who started losing her vision due to Retinopathy of Prematurity at age 9, completely losing vision in her left eye in 2012 after surgery, leaving her with right peripheral vision. As a musician she is entirely self taught and uses her platform to encourage and inform others on what its like to be a disabled musician.

In 2020 she independently released her first EP entitled "Moira of Arcadia" which was composed using only electroacoustic harp. It was written, recorded and produced by her. It follows the short instrumental story of the Kingdom of Arcadia and events that conspired there.

Soon followed the release of her single "Monolith (Erosion)" which has been proven to be a fan favorite

In 2021 she has been quite the busy bee, Releasing a 3 track improv EP rightfully titled “Splendor of Stillness” followed by her first 6 track EP entitled "Arcadian Winter" and “Celestial Waltz” her single set for August 27th 2021 which serves as but a taste of whats to come.

 

She currently uses Harpsicle brand Electroacoustic lever harps exclusively and has been endorsed by PedalTrain, Moog, Hologram Electronics and others  

 

OTHER VENTURES:

Sursie is also a trained fire performer with over 10 years of

experience and knowledge of performance with over 20 props. As a performer, she has performed at numerous events and featured in music videos for friends and artists. 

Collaborations and projects:

In 2021 Metzger  featured in the first music video for Lucia Cifarelli (KMFDM) as a fire performer and harpist for "Girls Like Me" the first single from Lucia’s album “I Am Eye” out on Metropolis Records with more collaborations to come.
